Frequently Asked Questions

Basics

What is the maximum print size of the HTVRONT D1?
Maximum print width is 13 inches (A3/A3+). It uses roll film, so length is limited by the roll, which enables long gang sheets.
What print resolution does it support?
Up to 1440 DPI for detailed, vibrant prints when artwork and settings allow.
What printhead does it use?
A professional grade Epson XP600. It can produce high quality results but is known to be fragile with DTF inks if maintenance lapses.
Physical dimensions and weight
Approx. 21.7 × 29.2 × 11.7 inches and about 58 lbs, suitable for a standard table in a home studio.

Software

Which programs are required?
Two programs: BetterPrinter for device control and RIIN Software (RIP) for layout and sending jobs.
Is it compatible with Mac?
The workflow is Windows only (Windows 10 or higher). Mac users need a Windows PC or a VM.
Can I use a third party RIP?
The D1 workflow is built around RIIN. Third party compatibility is not documented.
What is the USB dongle for?
It licenses the RIP so it can be used across multiple Windows computers.

Maintenance

What automated maintenance features exist?
Smart Maintenance includes auto white ink stirring, auto white ink circulation, and auto head cleaning to reduce clogs.
Does automated mean zero manual work?
No. You still need daily nozzle checks and regular cleaning of the head and capping station.
Key to longevity
Print regularly. Letting the printer sit for weeks is the most common cause of clogs.
What if it sits unused for weeks?
Expect clogs and plan for deep cleaning such as flushing lines and soaking the head.

Costs

Estimated cost per shirt
HTVRONT cites about $3.72 including ink, film, powder, and a blank shirt. Real world costs vary.
What ink is included?
Six 250 ml bottles (CMYK + 2×White), 1,500 ml total.
Starter film roll output
A 13" × 328' roll can yield around 246 full A3 transfers, potentially far more small logos.

Safety & Ventilation

Where do fumes come from?
Mainly from curing the hot melt adhesive powder with a heat source, not from the printer itself.
Do I need ventilation?
Yes. Work near an open window and consider a fume extractor or air purifier with HEPA and charcoal. PPE like masks and gloves is recommended.
Does the curing oven have built in ventilation?
No, which is why room ventilation is important.

Capacity & Throughput

Print speed
About 16 sq ft per hour, roughly 3 minutes for A3 and 2 minutes for A4, or ~17 to 20 plus A3 transfers per hour depending on settings.
Starter kit capacity
Reportedly ~1,123 transfers depending on design size and coverage.
Efficiency of roll feed
Supports long, continuous designs and gang sheets to reduce waste and speed batching.

Warranty & Ink Policy

What is covered under warranty?
Printhead and main board: 6 months with a one time replacement. Full machine: 12 months.
What is vendor lock in?
Using non HTVRONT ink voids the warranty, effectively requiring HTVRONT branded ink.

Positioning & Use Cases

Who is it for?
Small apparel businesses, Etsy sellers, and serious DIY creators who can commit to routine maintenance.
Who should avoid it?
Casual crafters, Mac only shops, and high volume operations that cannot accept downtime.
How is it positioned vs pro brands?
Lower upfront cost in exchange for higher user responsibility and operational risk compared with Epson or Roland.
Marketing slogan
HTVRONT frames the D1 as a license to print money for small businesses and entrepreneurs.
